Salvia greggii ‘Coral'
(SAL-vee-ah GREG-ee-eye)
(SAL-vee-ah GREG-ee-eye)
Coral Sage
This whitish-pink variety of Salvia greggii is a bit more compact than the ‘Flame.' Like ‘Flame', it loves heat and sun, and once-established needs little water. Very dainty flowers, which grow in mass during summer. It has an upright growth pattern, and its pale green evergreen leaves look good in winter when other plants have dropped their leaves. All you have to do to maintain it is to cut it back severely twice a year, in winter and in the middle of summer, with a pair of hedge clippers or pruners. -- Rick R.
