Fragrant Mist Flower
Justly beloved as a butterfly magnet, Fragrant Mist Flower also has the benefit of blooming in fall when much of your flowering plants are pooped. This shrub gets full of bunches of white, fuzzy flowers that draw butterflies. This open-shaped plant can get quite tall and wide, so give it room. It is also drought-tolerant and blooms in both sun and part shade, though the show is better in full sun. It isn’t fussy about quality of soil, but it prefers alkaline (sorry, East Texas). Use it as a specimen plant for fall or as part of a perennial garden. Shear in back in winter to encourage a denser shape the next year.
