Agastache neomexicana ‘Lavender Haze'
(ah-gas-TAH-kee nee-oh-meks-ih-KAY-nuh)
Lavender Haze is an tidy, upright little shrub that flowers with small, pale-blue flowers in early summer. It's a tender perennial, and it's not as tough as many other agastaches. But it's an especially early bloomer, valuable for those dawning days of summer. Use it in containers, so you can move it away from full sun and protect it in winter. It needs afternoon shade to stay green. Its delicate leaves have an appropriately delicate lavender scent. Bees and hummingbirds and butterflies appreciate the plant. Water it regularly, but don't overwater.
