Wedelia hispida (weh-DEEL-eh-ah HISS-peh-dah)
Zexmenia, Orange Daisy
This fast-growing perennial flower is a versatile and dependable addition to any flower garden or as a groundcover over rock areas. Zexmenia puts out many small, marigold-colored flowers through summer and into fall. This long-lived flower loves sun and doesn't need additional water once established. It freezes back in Zone 7 but returns in spring. Shear the plant in late winter to limit sprawl or in summer to encourage more blooms. Though it reseeds, volunteers come up easily. A great, no-problem perennial.
