Cliff Fendlerbush
Fendlera rupicola

Also known as false mock orange, Cliff Fendlerbush loves heat and dry conditions. It is a member of the hydrangea family, and shares many characteristics. It especially shares the showy blossoms, pinkish whitge, that cover the bush March through June. The bark is attractive, too, starting out reddish and becoming gray as it ages. This Southwest native grows naturally on rocky slopes or deserts. Obviously, it doesn't need much watering. To create a rounder shape, prune in late winter.
