‘Snow Nymph’ Sage

Like its cousin, Salvia coccinea ‘Coral Nymph’, this is a long-blooming salvia, with streams of delicate white flowers from May to frost. In my garden, its blooms last longer than that of most other plants. Its flowers are a bit larger than Salvia greggii's. It is tougher than it looks, though you will need to protect it by mulching during winter to ensure it comes back strong in spring. I started mine off in full sun, but it didn't like that so much -- Texas heat is HOT!. After moving it to a spot that gets shade in the afternoon, it really grew well. Once established, it doesn't need much water. But, it is not drought-tolerant; you will need to water regularly during the summer. It can grow lanky, but it stays in its spot, so its never unattractive. A quick grower, and quite lovely.
