A vigorous perennial vine with striking pink flowers from May to September. The vine, also known as sweet pea, looks great on a trellis or up the side of the house. It's widespread throughout the United States. Does reseed, but any volunteers are easy to handle. In Dallas County, lathyrus species are popular with Eastern-Tailed Blue, Silver-Spotted Skpper and Northern Cloudywing.
